2014 October Language Challenge

Do I have to take the lessons on italki?
Yes. 12 hours of lessons with a Professional Teacher or Community Tutor must be taken on italki. Trial lessons will not be counted.
Do I have to pay for the lessons I take?
Yes. These lessons must be paid by the Challenger as normal.
Frequently Asked Questions
When will you start counting the lessons?
The Language Challenge takes place during the entire month of October (Oct. 1st to Oct. 31st, 2014) for a total of 4 weeks. We start counting completed "hours" on Oct. 1st. If you join the Language Challenge after Oct. 1st (registration ends on Oct. 7th), all sessions taken between Oct. 1st, 2014 and Oct. 31st, 2014 will be counted towards the challenge.
Why should I take the Challenge?
Previous Challenges have proven to help language learners to get into a habit of learning. It has helped their motivation by setting a clear goal they need to meet.
However, don't take our word for it, watch the before and after videos of previous Challenge winners for the 2014 New Year's Challenge and for the 2014 World Cup Challenge.

Can I take Instant Tutoring sessions?
Yes. Instant Tutoring sessions count but as they are only 30 minutes in length, 2 Instant Tutoring sessions count for 1 completed one hour session.
